MEG TOYS - HOW TO SELL SOMETHING TO US:

We're collectors as well as toy people, so selling to us is pretty easy. All you need to do is follow a few simple steps.
- Decide the asking price for the item. We don't make offers.
(We can't decide if we want the item you are offering if we have no idea how much it is. And usually most requests to "make offers" are usually just veiled requests for free appraisals.)
- Describe the item you are selling. It is very important to explain the condition fully (especially if there is any damage).
(If it is a stuffed toy, see specific questions below.)
- Be willing to take picture of item if requested.
(We may not need a picture if not interested or if we have assurances that the toy is of a certain condition. Do not send a picture until we request it to reduce mail volume.)
- Tell us your return policy. We don't ask for returns just because we change our minds, but, we do expect the right to return things if they are misrepresented.
- Please have a parent or guardian contact us if you are a minor as we prefer to buy only if you are over 21 due to past misrepresentations from younger folks.
SPECIAL STUFFED TOY QUESTIONS:
- Is the picture shown the actual item you are selling (rather than a borrowed picture of the same item someone else has sold)?
- What is your return policy if item is not as described?
- Is the fur stained, dirty, or discolored?
- Is anything stuck in the fur? (glue, gum, etc.)
- Is the fur matted, sunbleached, dryer fried, or cut/trimmed?
- Can you fluff the fur naturally & is it still silky (if appropriate)?
- Does it have it's tags/box/packaging?
- In addition, if it's a Gizmo by Hasbro....
- are the eyes scratched?
- does he squeak when bounced?
- does he squeak easily when bounced more than once?
- does he have have the brown threads that accent his fingers & toes?
- does he have the paper hanging tag?
Whew, bet that seems like a lot of questions. But, when you get ripped off several times, you learn to ask a lot of questions to avoid buying damaged items and to reduce the risk of disappointment for both parties.
Sorry this is so long. We've spent years developing a happy network of fellow collectors and we ship everything in tissue, then bubble wrapped, then boxed in a huge box of peanuts and with a free surprise. We've been recommended on collecting shows, on the news, & by collectors who have adopted our things. I don't ask that kind of service when we buy something, I only ask for items to be accurately & honestly described as we do so these kinds of things become unneccessary and trust in internet purchases will continue to grow.
